Game Recommendations
In this page you will find some games that I consider fun to play, and that I think you should probably consider playing yourself. They are listed in alphabetical order, and the ordering does not represent my personal ranking.
Bioshock
The game presents itself as a shooter, but it is much more than that. You end up in an underwater city that has been destroyed, and you follow some orders in order to escape. This game has an amazing story, and I cannot wait to play its sequels.
Clair Obscur Expedition 33
In the game's world, every year a number far away goes down, and whoever reaches that age dies. An expedition sets sail to try to end this evey year. You are a part of Expedition 33. This game is beautiful, with each place looking more stunning than the previous. The combat is turn-based, but the mechanics that combine in it make it much more exciting. And the soundtrack comes no short of a classical opera. One of the best games ever.
Euro Truck Simulator 2
This game lets you buy and drive trucks. That's pretty much it. It is fun and relaxing, and has a pretty good community around it.
Football Manager 2024
This game allows you to become the manager of any football club. It focuses on the realism aspect, and has been pretty god at it until the 2024 entry in the series. Sadly, the 2026 entry has been a complete disaster.
Gran Turismo
This franchise sells itself as The Real Driving Simulator, and compared to some of its competitors this actually stands out by quite a margin. My favourites in the franchise are Gran Turismo 4 (PS2) and Gran Turismo 7 (PS4/5). This franchise pretty much made me love auto races.
Minecraft
A fun game to play with friends. The vast open world can be fun to explore, and the redstone mechanics allow for automation. The modding scene is also very active, with everything from gears and machines to actual Pokémon battles being added via mods.
Red Dead Redemption
This Rockstar franchise is the GTA of Wild West. Both games are pretty good, with immersive ambience and lovable characters. Both the main missions and side missions are a lot of fun, and just exploring the map is also a relaxing experience. The second game in the franchise is definitely the best game I have ever played. And RDR2 is the only game where I actually enjoy fishing.
RollerCoaster Tycoon 2
This amusement park construction game franchise was one of my favourites when growing up. Currently, there exists an active community playing through the OpenRCT2 project.
Papers Please
This game puts you in the place of a border control agent checking passports in the fictional country of Arstotzka. It has quite an interesting story and multiple possible endings. I actually have some good speedrun times in this game. This game also goes somewhat deep into moral dilemmas, and I believe it should be played by everyone.
Pokémon
The most profitable media franchise in history. If you don't know what Pokémon is, you collect pets and make them fight. Up to the sixth generation, with X, Y, OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire, the games were quite good, especially the first few. More recently, up to the ninth generation, we have been experiencing a shift downwards. I truly expect the next games, Winds and Waves, to be better than the previous few.
